Two options

If your event is open to the public or your job site falls under accessibility requirements, accessible restrooms are not optional. Most people looking at this page already know that. The question is what to order and how many.

A wheelchair accessible porta potty is a single oversized unit built for wheelchair access, with a wider door, room to turn, grab bars and a layout that works for a wheelchair or a walker.

An ADA compliant restroom trailer is the accessible version of a luxury trailer, with an accessible stall alongside standard stalls and the same flushing toilets and running water as the rest of the unit. This is the usual choice for weddings, corporate events and anywhere guest experience matters.

How many you need

Check your venue rules and your event permit before you order. Public events and permitted venues often set their own minimum, and that number is the one that matters.

Placement matters as much as count. An accessible unit on soft ground, at the far end of a site, or up a slope is not accessible in practice. Put it on firm level ground on the main path, not tucked at the back with the rest of the bank.

On job sites

OSHA requires employers to provide adequate toilet facilities for everyone on site. Accessibility is a separate requirement that comes from the ADA and from state and local rules, and it applies to the facilities you provide. In practice that means if someone on your crew needs an accessible unit, plan for one rather than sorting it out after the fact. On long-term sites, build it into the servicing schedule instead of handling it as a one-off.

Handicap & ADA Portable Restroom Rentals: FAQs

What makes a porta potty ADA compliant?

A wider door, enough interior room to turn a wheelchair, grab bars, and fixtures placed within reach.

How many accessible units do I need?

Check your venue requirements and your event permit, since those set the minimum for your specific site. Tell us your total unit count and we will make sure the accessible units are included in your order.

Are accessible restroom trailers available?

Yes, with an accessible stall alongside standard stalls in the same unit.

Do accessible units cost more than standard ones?

They are larger, so they price above a standard unit. Ask for a quote with your accessible count included and we will price it together.

Where should accessible units be placed?

On firm, level ground with a clear path from the main event area. Placement is what makes them usable.

Can I rent a single accessible unit on its own?

Yes. Standalone wheelchair accessible porta potties can be rented on their own or alongside standard units.

Are ADA restrooms required at events and job sites?

For most public events and workplaces, yes — the ADA requires accessible facilities. We will help you stay compliant and avoid access complaints.
